Q. Why has NWITP started charging fees for the boot camps?

A. The NWITP founders have spent more than $10,000 during the first 15 months of the professional group serving the local IT professional community. We have trained more than 500 IT professionals in this period. These boot camps typically cost $1,000 to $4,000 from other professional organizations. For estimation, if you take the average value of boot camp as $2,000, the NWITP professional group gave away $1 million (500 x $2,000) worth of education services in this period.

In spite of the fact that the group delivered lot of value and has very satisfied 1,200 members of the professional group, this model is not sustainable.

In order to continue to serve the community, after very deliberate discussions, it was decided to charge a very nominal fee for the boot camps to cover the cost and have ability to invest in the future. The fees is around 10% of fee charged by other professional training institutes. That is 90% discount on the fair market value.

The fees is used for

  • Paying for the cost of snacks and meals served during the boot camp
  • Paying for the cost of content developed for the boot camps
  • Invest in future like hiring certified trainers, improving content quality, building on-line quiz & practice questions, building project/exercises for students
